i just remembered that i did see a bunch of these bumble bee catfish at petsmart a couple of weeks ago.i was wondering would they work with red eye tetras?and also in a 20 gallon if any how many could i have?

If it's a South American bumblebee, then one could fit in a 20 gallon.

These guys will hide a lot and only come out when fed or at lights off. I have these guys. Very easy to care for and they can eat small fish, but red eye tetras are not small so you're safe.

Given the history you have had with issues with this store, (bumble)bee careful.
ok dont worry i will never shop there again.but i will get them through petco.never steered me wrong before.there is a dude that is si smart about the fish there.

Petco never carried the SA Bumblebee Catfish, once in a blue moon, but mostly Petsmart carries them. All 3 of mine came from Petsmart and no issue. They are a very hardy fish.
They do have a large mouth, as pictured here. This is one of my older ones.
For a 20g, I say you can do about 1-2.
