I'm trying to decide between a few aquarium systems to use for a breeder and nursery. I need two, so I could just buy two of the same system if one stands out above the others. Also would like to know if the tanks should be different shapes.

So far I've found Fluval spec v, current solo 5g, fluval spec 3 and topfin 5g.

Also Eheim Aquastyle Aquarium (4 Gallon) - $175

Advice would be awesome.

Fluval spec v - $100 CAD

Topfin 5g - $50

If this is only for breeder/nursery, I would use a "Cheapy" 5gal, heater, and sponge filter.

Those all-in-ones are pretty little tanks, but for a long term setup, separate components tend to be better when you need to swap something out due to component failures.

Went with a spec v, for the first tank anyway. Picking it up now for 80 cash, not too bad.

Not too bad for a "Nano Display" tank. What do you planning on putting in it?

Whatever fry I manage to produce from either galaxy's or scarlet badis. I plan on having a nice, well planted aquascape. The more plants the better for the fry. Any good low light plant ideas?

It's in great condition and everything seems to work fine. Turns out it came with a mini marina heater too. The tank looks so small with nothing in it.

I've found plants like Anubias and java fern to be good low-light plants for small tanks. The former has several small varieties that would work well.

Yes, anubias would look great with black sand substrate and some wood hardscape. I think it would look best just having mostly anubias or possibly one other plant that complements it.
