Help help help!

So, Like many of you have been following on and contributing a ton of helpful advice (thank you again) im back again with some weird readings! And I need some help to figure out my next steps.

I found a wonderful women and fish keeper in my area with a beatiful 250 gallon hap and peacock tank. I caught her on a good day as she was just throwing out some filter media. And some sludge from her sponge filters. The readings im getting on my api master test kit are as follows

Ammonia: between 2-4 ppm
Nitrites: 0ppm
Nitrates: between 0ppm and 5 ppm
Ph: 7.2

My guess is you haven't really started cycling yet. That is a high reading of ammonia, and you would expect to see some Nitrites if you started to cycle. Keep in mind you could get a small reading of Nitrates straight out of your tap.

Just be patient you are on the right track, but you've got a ways to go yet.

That's what worries me. I've been doing this for 3 weeks now and seen really not much change at all.

what are you using as your ammonia source ?

Started with feeding the tank. Then moved to adding raw shrimp. As I couldn't find any pure ammonia. Finally I did, which is pure ammonia and h2o. Guyyyyys I' don't think I can do much else!

Can you post a picture of your ammonia source? Also your PH is a little low.
