Help to choose new stock for my tank please?

Chomping on the bit to order new fish. Nano tank should be here by the end of Feb, thinking I will wait til then so I can get a few endlers for the that tank plus some SA's for the 55 to save on separate shipping charges. Meanwhile though I have zucc in the house now, I am leaving the snails in there for whatever they contribute waste wise to keep the bacteria going..... I stepped on a large lego, foot tilted and slipped off, broken bone in foot:( Going to orthopetic doc tomorrow to see if surgery or cast. Guess its blessing the new tank and new fish will not be here for a few weeks.

25 watt heater and beneficial bacteria estimated for delivery tomorrow for new nano tank:)

I planned on using gravel and floss from old tank to colonize this one, but I fear it will also transfer snail eggs.

Start new or take my chances, what do you think?

Well, I'm not as anti-snail as many. If you've ordered BB & can have fish in there soon!, that might be better, I haven't done that.

So, do you need surgery? I hope you're healing well.

Hi, I do not need surgery:), break is near heel and the bones are aligned, so 8 weeks in a big black hospital boot padded velcro ski boot thing with check up xrays every to weeks, last xray looks good so far and foot is much less painful:).

I am not super antisnail, guess I am confusing my many tanks of africans that I ran undergravel filters in the the empty shells clogged the top caps? Guess I am overthinking and confusing things, thanks!

The new nano aq has a chamber on the back for filters, I was going to use some floss from the canister on 55 into the nano chamber. I also have a layer of sponge filter and ceramic hex beads to choose from, which would you use?

Easier too would be gravel from 55 instead of new gravel, no brainer now that you jogged my thinking.

I have not ordered new fish yet, since decided to stay with nano only for now, break down and store the 55, too many complications with my ability to maintain, as well as the big one is another room, but the nano I can keep in the living room where I sit almost all day:) I will be moving the bristlenose into it and waiting for husband to visit a bigger town for some tetras.

I am close to pressing the buy button on fish. 4 rainbows and one ram plus the existing BN. Sound like a good start for restocking a 55gal?

Which Ram? Gold, Electric Blue or Bolivian?

I'd like to order more for the same shipping price........like a school of tetras........? But already questioning the bio load, as the tank was cycled with 8 fish, guess I am putting alot of faith in the new bottled BB.

Thoughts?
