I think I went to that mall place once, probably on the way to Ken's. As I recall it seemed a cut above my low expectations for a mall shop.

While we're way off your AC filter topic, there are some clubs in road trip kinda way. I went once to BAS (meets monthly at the NE Aquarium in Boston in a separate bldg.) The Chicopee annual auction is fun (can't remember the club name, Western MA or Springfield maybe) & the NE cichlid club? auction in N. CT. Ken was at the last 2 (cheap frozen food too). There also a club near you in RI, Pawtucket? (I think Ken was prez at some time).

I just wanna use the spot to say that aquarium clubs are kind of awesome. We have met so many incredible people through local and national clubs and conventions it is incredible.... Some have been ex AC members too.

Yes! Clubs are great! I'm sorry I was so vague, it's been a while, but hopefully Neptunius will check some out. Many of my CA friends are from local-ish clubs, good folks! But also fun on a less frequent basis. Go! meet interesting people, learn new stuff & get some good deals too. What's not to love?

I would personally start with the NEC group of clubs, or look into their convention next year... I think it is in March, I expect to be there.

Yeah, but it's a few hour road trip for Neptunius...Is NEC New England Cichlids? I forget all the acronyms... The Chicopee meet was very fun, I went several times... But RI is quite close from Braintree, this might be "his" local club. It helps to kinda know the area however old my data may be, lol.

NECA is the New England Cichlid Association

NEC is the Northeast council of aquarium societies

There are a good few clubs listed there, I know the council themselves are an awesome bunch, and I have not found a member or a clubthere that I didn't like.

I could likely give you better information if you were in NJ or Eastern PA... But unfortunately my geography doesn't extend quite that far
.

I realized this is gone totally off topic, but I just went to Uncle Ned's today. It was awesome! I realized I had been there many years ago I'm not sure why I hadn't gone back. I went with my brother (he is Jaysito on here, a knewbie fish keeper) and I think we both came away with severe MTS.
Another question for those who are locals or former locals what do you think about Underwater World in Taunton?
