They look very similar to Blue Rams except I cant control the high heat. I live in the desert and its 95F outside now, while my house temp is around 80F.

The highest my tank will get (only for a month or 2) will be 86F. Normally it will be 80-82F. Are they hardier and as friendly as german blue rams?

They are hardier then GBR, from what I had noticed and just as friendly once they warm up to you. My Bolivian is always out and center in my 55g. Both types rams have personality and become personable.
