Any other snake lovers??

The Anery is only about 7-8" and my normal phase is around 11-12" now. Both new snakes took their first meals this week and kept them down. Both are now in shed. :)

I love holding the cresteds! They feel like soft rubber to me and I love how their little claws hook into you. It makes them feel like they are sticky! I'm trying to keep my electric bill in check or they would have gone home with me weeks ago. I have this really nice 26 oak bowfront they would look good in.

I used to have a ball python...had him for about 5 years then the only pet store in town that sold mice went out of business so I had to get rid of him :( Fortunatly my brother knew some one that took him and takes care of him so that helps. In the future I would like to get a boa of some type. I've been trying to get my Aussie friends to send me an Eastern Taipan, but they wont do it for some reason :\
Hey Xauz, next time you get a snake also remember you can always order frozen mice.
There is always a way to keep your pets.

I hate snakes.....*shivers and hides*

Reason: My father is good friends with Bill Haast, reknowned snake expert and I was made to watch him "milk" pit vipers (rattlesnakes, water mocs, etc) as a child. I saw that man get bitten more times then I can recall. Also, my dad made me hold "harmless" snakes like corn snakes and pythons. One day, I was holding a common corn snake, and it decided to bite the **** out of my arm and hand, drawing blood in multiple little thumbprint size marks. It actually latched onto my hand and started CHEWING on me. I think I was around 10 years old. Needless to say, ive been scared of snakes ever since.

Oh, and for the record, I hadnt been handling or even in close proximity to rodents or food. My hands were clean and dry, so I have no idea why it bit me. Even Bill was suprised at the savageness of that bite.

Trickster do you breed any of your ball pythons? Any interesting morphs?

I love Snakes with a passion. If only I had more
I have a Florida Ribbon Snake right now, but I'm probably gonna get either a Kenyan Sand Boa or a Western Hognose over the summer.

Wow, that last story is surprising. Corn Snakes are usually very docile. Biting and "chewing" sounds like a feeding bite, not a quick strike for self-defense. Anywho, if there was ever a legit reason for being afraid of snakes, you have it, lol

I did have a large Corn Snake strike at my face once, but I was 8 or 9 and being kind of a dumb-you-know-what with the snake. I would have bitten me too.
