I recently bought the Python and I love it. I can take the water out of the tank easily enough, but what's the best way to put it back in (150G SW)?

Currently, I'm using the Python to add the water to a container and then using buckets.

How can I use the Python to add directly to the tank? Is there a way to do this and add the salt (and buffer) safely?

Marine or Freshwater use?

Sorry, it's for a 150gal saltwater. The height is around 5'.

Edited to add, when I do a water change it is just under 40gal, 25%.

i dont think your gonna be able to fill up with the python. its a syphon which bring water from higher to lower. maybe if it were near a stairwell.. or you get the buckets up off the ground somehow. i think a pump is a better bet.

A pump! What a great idea...I didn't even think about that.

Thank you!

I have a 32gallon brute garbage can on wheels. That's what I use to make my saltwater in. I use 2 200watt stealths and a magdrive 2. When the water is mixed and brought to right temp,I just put a hose on the magdrive and put the water in the tank. I also have a lid for it with a float,so I can hook it up to my ro/di unit.

So you're mixing s.w. in your tank? If so that's not a good idea.

No, I mix it in a (Rubbermaid) tub and wanted to know the best way to get from there to the tank- too heavy to have it above the surface somewhere.

I'm going to go with the pump idea though.
