My 30 broke and unleashed itself on my floor a couple days ago, theres a previous thread so im not going to go into all of it. But we were able to get a 55 gallon kit and a nice stand from petco. It was kind of pricey but its very nice. I got all of the fish transferred from the 5gal bucket into the tank that night and they all seem to be doing very well. Overall only 4 fish were lost, 3 glowlights and 1 molly fry that was a few months old. The stand doesnt have a solid top, it just holders the edges of the tank but it is very sturdy. I put my Aquaclear 30-60 from my broken 30 gallon on the one back end and the Whisper 60 that came in the kit on the other back end so there is plenty of current and filter power. Its still kind of bare but I plan on getting more plants and caves and a no-spill python. Im using 1 200w heater that came with the kit, its in the middle to give equal heat to both sides. With the extra space I plan to add 1-2 Blood Parrot's, 3 panda cories, 2 albino cories, 3-4 cherry barbs, 4-5 gold barbs and some more hatchets as I only have 1 hatchet left and they like to school, and a couple more mystery snails. Currently have 1 Gold Gourami, 1 cherry barb, 1 marble hatchet, 3 peppered cories, 1 albino cory, 3 grown mollies and several fry that are a few months old, 1 rubber lip pleco, 1 gold mystery snail and an unknown amount of pond snails (there are a bunch living in my filter too behind the carbon pads that got sucked in as babies I guess, I get some out now and then if I can. Is this bad for either them or the filter?)
