You don't need center brace....provided the 2x4 stringers are oriented vertically.
1/2 plywood on the sides would work fine - save some money over the 3/4, but use the 3/4 for the top if you wish.

Also.... how would i prep the wood and get all the edges where the 2x4 meats the plywood and what not filled in so i can spray paint it?
Good thing I kept reading, I was going to suggest the same thing. With the horizontal 2x4s resting on top the vertical 2x4s they can't go anywhere and are not totally dependant on the fasteners (glue, screws, nails, etc..) to hold the load like they would if attached at the sides or ends.
You could cover up the seams with peices of window/door trim to make it look fancy and hide all the unattractive parts.
i did a completely diffrent stand. Way more structurely sound. Anyone know how to paint the back of a tank. i tried today and it just rolls off like water
I just cleaned the glass well with windex, let it completely dry, and sprayed it. It took about 5 coats to get a solid coat on there, you have to go really light on the glass so it doesn't run.
