Bubbles ok on new tank set-up?

Hello Everyone!

This is my first post on the board and I have a question. I did a search and didn't really find the answer I was looking for. I just got a new 10g tank and set it all up and its been filtering and heating for about 4 hours or so now. There are thousands of tiny air bubbles on the sides of the tank as well as the buddah statues I have in the tank. Are these just oxygen bubbles? Will they go away? Are they good or bad? Please let me know.

If the air bubbles really bother you, (they do me) i usually take a filter cleaner, or you can use a small net and swish them away, they will setlle out though, don't worry , when you use water out of a faucet, its gonna have those bubbles..they don't hurt a thing, when I do my water changes, they even end up the fish..lol

Even if you remove them, they may come back for a day or two. They are from the gasses in the water coming out. A few days and they will be gone. It ticks me off every time I do water changes but I've learned to ignore.
 
I don't believe any reports about those bubbles hurting fish. Bubble wands don't hurt fish, either. My bristlenose likes to play in the bubbles.

Those problems reported in that thread were most probably temperature-related. Bubbles at glass walls of new aquaria have to do with small irregularities or dirt particles on the glass surface. As soon as the upper layer of "glass molecules" are properly hydrated (just by soaking), the bubbles will be gone.
 
Colder water holds more oxygen in solution. As the water warms up the oxygen gasses off and sticks to the glass. It happens to a lesser extent in summer when the cold water out of the tap is warmer. Never hurt my fish.
