Black Ghost Knives

moonDreamer, with you will Argue, you say they wont reach 26" then tell that to 142, he is a 7 year old ghost knife of mine. very interesting to watch. I gave the ghost information to the persons whom posted it. please do not spread disinformation about them, and they do require more then 200G minimum despite What MOST sites say.

ok so maybe i was off a inch.

No they don't need a 200 gallon tank, nor do they get 2 feet long in captivity...look it up , 90% of the websites will tell you different. They need a 55 gallon tank minimum. I know lots of people who have kept them to thier max life expectancy, in good health, in these conditions.

Seems alot of you are confusing the needs of a Clown Knife with a Black ghost, either that or just talking out of your *** :D
this is one thing i stress. you really have to watch where you get your info from. a couple months back there was a post about this book saying a oscar can live in a 5 gal tank. prob a good reason why they dont get to their full potential is because people put them in a small tank.

Actually they do, and this comes from a person who has 12 of them, you NEED 200G for the one fish it will not grow to it's potential and it will die miserable.

lol whatever, i've kept ghosts and none of you obviously have....stick to what you know....

if you did not read what he said he says he has 12 of them.

i for one have never kept one because i dont have room for the big tank they need. i only have a 120 gal tank which is to small for it.

fine, you keep killing knives, I dont care, I've had them for 12 of the 17 years I've been workin with fish, you think I would know somthing, but what do I know, I simply have a screen name NAMED in their honor kept them prolly longer then you have but I must be some jackass who just jumped into the hobby right?

funny, then maybe you can explain to me the phenomon of my friends ghost knife who is 6 years old , 12 foot long , healthy in a 55 gallon tank...not to mention numerous others I've read about on meassage boards I frequent. Don't be ridiculous anyone who's kept these fish knows they don;t need a 200 gallon tank.

how can you call it happy in a 55G tank, the footprint alone is WAY to friggin small to support an adult one! not even wide enough for it to Turn around! that's cruel to do

200 gallons... hahahahaha ... well then you have quite the crusade on your hands because these guys are sold daily by the 100's at fish stores and I'll bet not even 1% of these people have a 200 gallon tank at home...get serious.

and thats the problem with the stores, they dont care, they are in it for the money. I suggest you brush up on your ghost knife facts before you manage to kill another one.
