My Mag-5 is way too LOUD! Please suggest a better alternative...

I hooked this thing up to my PVC under-sand jets today in my Malawi tank and the thing rattles and is way too loud. My Eheim and XP3 hardly make a peep so this makes my tank so much more noisy.

Can anyone suggest a pump that is quiet? Money is no object. We're looking at between 400 and 550 gallons per hour here.

have you tried padding the pump? I assume it's in a sump? put rubber under it and see what happens

It's in the main tank hooked up to PVC to create water movement at the bottom so the poop doesn't settle on the sand. Even when I take it up and hold it in my hand it's noisy.

Quiet one with equivelent flow. Quiet ones are great pumps. I'm running 2 of their model 4000 pumps and I cant even tell if they are on. My Little Giant makes way too much sound to hear theml.

I replaced it with an Eheim. It's so quiet you can't even tell if it's on.
