I would say 6, they only get an inch long as adults.

you could have 1 ram and 6 dwarf cories, or a DG and 2 platies.

yes, i'm just sayiong if you still want a ram you can get 1, but it will be the only thing you can have other than dwarf cories.

I'm leaning towards platies and gourami with corys. Are they very hardy?

you should fishless cycle your tank first, then add the platies, then the dwarf gourami, and then the pygmy corydoras. if you cannot find any in any LFSs around you, then you may have to have them order them for you.

if you carry out 25% water changes every week and do not overfeed you should be fine.
