Fair Used Tank Prices?

I just wanted to see how everyone decided on what was fair when it comes to used tank prices.

If a drilled tank is what you need, and it is good condition and holds water, I'd buy the first one.

Depending on what filters come with it and how old they are, the 2nd one is so-so.

Dont buy the second one....You can buy a new 55 gallon at Wal-Mart with stand, filter, light, glass top, heater, etc for $235.00..

Drilled means it has holes inthe bottom of the tank to install and over flow and return pipe.

Definately don't do the 2nd. I just got a 90G for $400 with stand, lights, 2 - Magnum Cannister Filter and a bunch else.

just wait till a good deal comes along, it seems like everyday on craigslist cheap tanks pop up. i picked up this 125g setup today for 250$. ahint for craigslist is dont just look in the pet section, search the general for sale section and the free section also has some good stuff as well.

was that tank in so cali? i try to only spend $1 per gal for tank and stand. a little more if its nice or has something i want with it.

That sounds like a good rule of thumb. I like this idea.

that works for me cause there are many tanks for sale around me. other places where very few tanks are sold it might be more. i have bought many tanks for $1 a gal or less from 20-120 gal.
