Wal-Mart Tanks

You are correct, as well as Aqua Tec These are both different spin off brands. I know that they are also manufactured on the same line. Small variances but all high quality.
yeah.... the main differeces are the filter is SLIGHTLY weaker and they have a bio-sponge instead of a bio-wheel (in most of the filters, that is. the built in ones still retain the bio-wheel.

Both my 10g and my 55g have been leak free. The 10g for 5 months and the 55g for 2 months.

My 46 Gal. bow front is leak free for 2 months now. the $198 pricetag for the tank, stand and hood is what got me back into fish.

Q

I got a 55gal kit about 3 months ago and no problems so far.:)

Just don't buy their fish!

I'll second that! I just picked up a tank at walmart last weekend, and since I was at that corner of the store, I looked over the tanks, and I think every tank has at least one dead fish in it! Some of the water looked quite funky too. NOTE: I never had any intention of buying any fish there! I was just checking to see what kinds of fish I might want.

granted, the bio-sponges are no match for a bio-wheel, ive been using my biosponge HOB for a few years now and it does an awesome job of maintaining the biological filtration of the tank.
