!! tap water ???

You eiter quickly increased the bio load in your tank or for some reason, such as running your skimmer and doing water changes before you should have, your cycle never fully compleated and you should get that taken care of.

I think you mean your nitrAtes are at 20?

Anyway, do you have any sort of a clean-up crew, such as snails or hermit crabs?

If it is indeed nitrates then a good water change with ro/di water should help a lot. I just posted a reply to your other thread after reading about your tang what is your water change schedule.

well i just stared 2 do it ones a week. 10% water chang. 4 times a month. yea i need to go to my LFS and git that RO/DI unit it is a 75 gal unit. for $175 that is man cheep. for a 75 gal i def going in the moring 2 git it :) :) :)

GOOD place to start but just so you know RO/DI water is not a magic cure, also with the news that you hace a fish with HLLE I would suggest that you do 10% twice a week untill that is fixed up.

That should be fine. What size tank is it and how big is the tang?
You should really pick up some extra test kits (ammonia, nitrite and nitrate along with ph) so that you can keep a good eye on the paramiters of the QT tank. Make sure he gets the nutrition that Germanman prescribed and that the water stays as close to perfect as humanly possible. It would be my suggestion to do twice weekly 10% or greater water changes with premade water that has the exact temp. and ph. Also keeping a little extra on hand "just incase" would be advisable so if you test and something is wrong you can fix it right away.

GOOD LUCK AND KEEP US UP TO DATE!!!!!!!!!
