55g Tank stand, 25$ and 1 hour

Well I went to homedepot, picked up heavy duty liquid nail, Deck mate 2 1/2" screws, and 5 2x4s, wich I had them cut to size. Came home, assembled the stand like I planned. I drew everything out in about 20 minutes with help from fellow AC.com member( thank you all very much).. took me about one hour, did not use hardly any of the liquid nail as it really wasn't needed. Let me know what you think

are you going to paint or stain it at all? are you going to put a top on?

I prefer my vertical posts to be directly supporting horizontal members, vice face joints.

NO im not putting a top on it. Yes im going to paint it Tomorrow, Most likely just spray paint it black..... Hell for 25bucks, its a darn good stand, plus it gets the job done. thats what counts

I was wondering about that too. I've never built a stand, but most of the DIY drawings I see have the vertical posts directly under and supporting the horizontal framing.

Nice work though, be sure to update when you have it painted!

Have you considered adding some plywood to the back of the tank (or diagonal supports)?

That looks great but I would add a little bit more lateral support incase someone hits the end of the tank.

I would consider adding some lateral support - some cross members on the back and sides or even plywood sheeting.
