What kind of algae is this???!!!

Ive been searching the net looking and looking:read: , but nothing seems to match the description. All i can tell u about it is it multplies beyond belief. Most of whats in the pics exploded within 2 days. My water is ph6.5-6.8, auto pressure co2, greg watson ferts-12ml/day, 484 pc flourescent lights-12hrs/day. gh 3-4. Please help Ive tried manually removing it, chemicals(i know), and phosphate/nitrate absorbents. All to no avail????

any help is greatly appreciated since i am at a stand still with this monster!!

I have had this not sure what it is. Hair or beard algea is what i've been told. It is a pain to get rid of, I finally got so mad at it toke all my plants out and dipped in a mild bleach solution. Don't do this if you like any of your plants cause I lost about 75% of mine doing this. I've heard you can use hydrogen peroxide, not sure if this is safe or how much you use but I've been told you can use it with fish in the tank. I don't think I would do this unless someone can tell you what the recipe for this is and if its safe or not. I had this on my riccia pad started as green hair algea and upgraded light and it tunred brown and started growwing like mad. I would say if you added a new plant anytime before this showed up it hitchhiked in. Good luck tring to get rid of it and hope someone can help more than me.

Thanx, sounds just like what i gots. Ive been trying peroxide with syringe directly on largest areas, and it kinda of turns greyish white slows down, but does not die off.:read:
 
Your lights don't need to be on for 12 hours a day. Try cutting the lights to 9 or 10 hours a day and see if it helps.
 
not any help but just an observation, i had this on my myriophyllum, which ultimately killed it. i didn't see it on any other plants and since i have removed the rest of the myrio, it went away. dunno if possibly it is linked to it, or just a coincidence.

What does this plant look like, because a few weeks ago I bought this slow growing stem plant and it seems to like it best. Once I saw it on that plant it quickly spread, and ive been battling it ever since.
