LFS sickened me today.

The only thing that bugs me more than LFS employees who don't take proper care of their fish is the people who think yelling at them and calling them names is going to fix things. There are ways to handle those types of people, and immaturity is not one of those ways.

The best thing you can do is simply not shop there. Do not give them your money, because they will only use that money to harm more fish. If you really want to make a difference, ask to talk to the manager. Walk with the manager and point out your concerns in a polite manner. If talking to the manager in person is not your forte, then send them letters politely explaining your concerns. Parading around the store insulting people is not a way to make a difference.

Its nice to say "im not gonna shop here anymore!" what if its the only decent store? Also I don't think not shopping at a store because they have a sub standard employee is a logical decision. I've said it before, and Ill say it again...

If biologists and ichthyologists worked in pet stores we would be paying 15 dollars for a friggin neon. Do your own research and for god sakes stop complaining becuase the minimum wage employee gave you bad information. Its YOUR fault for believing them, next time don't impluse buy and do research before you buy the fish and everyone will get along a lot better.

If you get enough people calling employees names, enough managers to see the problems and enough people going somewhere else to shop then either the store will go out of buisness or they get so many people shopping there that no matter what you do it won't make a difference.

Just shop where you like or where you can and do what makes you feel good.

And do your own research... of the stores too. I think if you visit enough of them you get a feel for which stores take good care of the fish.

I think that the people that complain about the LFS employeees are the morons! Stop your whining and do your research. That way you don't have to put yourself in the position of believing someone that you do not trust anyways.

What I am talking about is what the OP was talking about, the cruelty the fish were going through that the employee did not want to take care of. I don't expect an LFS employee to know much about fish, I don't even talk to them if I can help it. But if there is a store where there is a problem that is not being acknowledged, I.E. sick fish that are not being taken care of and/or still being sold, why would anybody want to give that kind of place their money? All they are going to do with the money is buy more fish to kill. Just look at walmart.

EDIT: I apologize. Now that I look at my post I see where somebody might misunderstand what I said. I should have said that it is best to talk to the manager first, then if the problem is not acknoledged that is when you don't give the store your money.

I do my own research and I never ask them anything, but so many times you'll overhear them talking to another customer, and giving advice that is so ridiculously wrong all you can do is just roll your eyes.

What gets me is they say everything with such confidence, as if they are the expert of all expert. The other day I heard some lady asking how long she would need to cycle her new tank. Without hesitation he says, "At least a few hours but it'd be better if you let it run a day or so."

HAHAHAHA. Just be honest and say you just work here, you have no fish yourself, and you have no clue.

Now all you don't have to be such knocker's. Not like this blokes acting like a tacker, bounce, or even a greenie, most likely a true blue, just wanting the blobhead they came across to not to be such a drongo:huh: get it, got it, good:laugh:

Oh & you will never find a bidet in some ol dunny, only a dunny roll, eeeewwwwwww. This is more a culture thing than not & I'm sure the dropkick, ning–nong in the pet store got the picture, have you?:joke:

Ain't education great!

Fine. However, to say that all LFS employees are morons you would literally have to mean all of them in the entire world. I would assume that you do not know all of them so...I guess they are not. My point is I get tired of people lump summing a particular group of individuals and labeling them as all the same. In reality this is obviously not true. There are some of them out there that actually do know what they are saying and try to educate the masses but some of the masses do what they want anyways and all you can do is inform them. I can't even count the number of times when I give a particular person the correct information and because they do not like what they hear and want to do what they want anyways, they go to someone else until they hear what they want and get what they want. That makes me cringe! You can only do so much but in the end the decision is thiers. Until you have been on the other side, you probably will not understand this side of it.
