how long do hitchhikers take to come out?

Had my rock for about 3 month now and still finding new things. Some things i've only seen once then they've disappeared again.
Keep looking i'm sure you'll soon see something. Most things will start very small so look hard :) .

All I've seen if a little white blob of something in a crevise. It looks like a white worm possibly, but it hasn't moved for days. Maybe its nothing!

22 lbs of live rock out of water 2 days

8 lbs of live rock out of water about 5 minutes. hehe. store is REALLY close.

Like some said, it could take months. But you should start to see your liverock liven up more soon. Since a larger portion of your rock was out of the water for 2 days you might not see many very large hitchhikers, if any. But you will suprised at what can grow and appear on your liverock. After the first month I saw spagetti worms, a chiton and small sponges. After two months I saw featherdusters and other type of filter feeders.

Ah and sorry for not being able to answer your red light question right away.

Is it curled up? I had a bunch of dead white looking worms on my liverock. None of them came back to life, but my cleanup crew likes picking at them. And you would be suprised at what can move after a while though. I had a orange chiton that didn't move for two weeks. But then one day I noticed it an inch away from its original position.

I had a nudibranch of some sort (about an inch long) appear just last night after lights out. Liverock has been in there about 2 weeks, it might only come out at night.
