cherry shrimp

Make sure they are compatible w/ your other tankmates, but there is someone usually sellign them in our classifieds here on the forumn or I would recommend trying:
http://www.petshrimp.com/

Fantastic resource also! ;)

There are atleast two active sellers over in the classifieds also.

you can get cherry shrimp at aquabid.com dirt cheap. I got some put them in a 5 gal. filled with java moss and they reproduce like crazy. of course they are the only ones in there.

:look: has anyone had experience with with green pea puffers and cherry shrimp? I'm wondering if the CS young would be able to avoid the constantly searching GPP(a fabulous snail hunter).

Once my CS pop. starts to grow, I have a gravid female that's just about to release her first brood(?) and have sent my GPP packing back to the LFS, I'll reintro a GPP unless I hear that it's not advisable.

thanks in advance

I currently have green pea puffer(aka dwarf puffers?) with cherry shrimps. And to this date, 2 months, there has no incidents of puffer eating any of my 5 shrimps in the tank.

Dealing with the young though is a different story, to the puffers the young shrimps will be mistaken for brine shrimps, and down the shrimp buffet they go. So you should separate, or rely on the luck of hiding spots and a heavily planted tank. ( i had 2 pregnnt shrimps who i thought fell vicitm to rams, they hid from my rams(R.I.P.) underneath driftwood and magically i found babies underneath.)

I've noticed a significant number of young snails since I removed the GP puffer(yes dwarf), I think I will rely on a Darwinian philosophy with regard to the shrimp survival given that there are several other fish in the tank that are much quicker than GPP was, it alway seemed to scrutinize (giving plenty of time for escape) it's meals anyway.
