Wellington Oh,
I have a 55 gal tank I currently just have an ugf with two aqua clear 50's running it. I was wanting to get some additional filtration and not sure what to get. Any recomendations welcome thank you.

A good canister filter, Magnum, Eheim, or even a larger AC110 or Emp 400 should do.

What rbishop said.....Prices vary......:dance2:

Thanks, echo, forgot to mention them.

I've never used a Magnum, but I've used Fluval, Eheim and Rena. I am not a fan of Fluval. Eheim is great, but they're pretty pricey. I have a Rena XP3 now, and I think it works just as well as my Eheim ever did, and it was significantly less expensive. I also find it easier to clean, and it's so quiet I can't even hear it with the cabinet door closed.

I've heard a few scattered mentionings of dissatisfaction with Fluvals. I've had good experience so far. I have had a 104 on my 20g long now for about a year and a half. It works perfectly well.

I have a Rena XP2 on my 55...I like that one just as much as the Fluval.

Eheim...eh...I never owned one but in my opinion they're more of just paying for a name than any significant service advantages.

Never owned a Magnum, but I hear they're great.

I recommend a Rena XP2 or XP3. Reasonably priced, very quiet and lots of options for media.
