Is my blue legged hermit dead? It's legs and pinchers are the same colour, blue legs and black pinchers. The rest of it's body is white, but wihter than it's body normaly is. And there's no shell around him.

Also my one spotted foxface isn't comepletely yellow where it's saposed to be. It's powdery white at the top.

PH 8.1, nitrite-0, ammonia-0, nitrate-0, I don't have phosphate test kit. Oh yeah and SG 1.025. When my foxface is not feeling good it turns slgihtly black thrn white then complete yellow, but he changes fequently. I have atleast 3 spare shells in my tank.

are u sure it wasnt just a molt? and maybe do a water change just to be safe for the fox face...is it being picked on maybe...have u been giving ti algae?
Yeah I was thiking it was a molt. Will another hremit crab eat a dead non-molt crab? Cause my other hermit kind of poked it then kept moving. Also there were 1/2 inch long red string like things coming out of the sand by the rock. It is very very thin and about 3-5 of them coming out of one spot. Now it is gone. I feed my foxface seaweed everyday my other fish love it too, but he hogs it all. Actually he is pefect colour now. I kind of figured something out now. When I step away foxxy is perfect colour. When I come closer and he sees my head staring at him he starts to get a stripe on the upper part of the yellow part. The stripe is like powdery black, but it is very faint.

sometimes they will pic at molts but usually not unless its a dead animal...glad to hear the foxface is better! they get stressed easily sometimes.
