Ok, I am going to built a custom little PC to put next to my future SW live rock tank. I want it to monitor everything from ph, salinity, kh, temp, etc etc and report the readings to my pc in real time (or at set intervials). I saw one or two progrmas on line that will do that but im curious if everyone here knows anything? I would also want this to control my lighting if possible. So essentially, this solution would ahve to contain software and probes. Any ideas?

i couldn't find a true all in one monitor that included salinity. Anyone know of one? If not, I guess ill have to get a separate monitor, though I love how this one has a web server built in...

You can measure salinity indirectly by measuring the water's conductivity - this is actually one of the easyest and cheapest electronic tests to do.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you could measure alkalinity electronically.

interesting. a lot of the all in ones test temp, ph, orp, and conductivity. i guess i need to find the conversion of conductivity to salinity or specific gravity.
