I can't contain my excitement!!!

Thanks... I sure will!!

Bought the plants and driftwood for his tank today. I had to postpone the purchase of his live/frozen foods to get it all in. I'll buy that stuff with my next paycheck. Some tankmates, too.

Exciting stuff!!! :D

how many more days till he arrives? :) *is excited for you, can't wait to see photos*

I would name him Shogun Destiny.

i cant wait for you to get him i want to see your setup and all the pics you are going to take... also i want to find out how much he cost in the end if you dont mind me asking

*** UPDATE!! ***

Finally!! He will be shipped to the U.S. on the 22nd of this month. The transhipper contacted me about shipping him here. I asked for the full package protection, so it totals to $37.60 to ship him here. So...

$14.00 for the betta
$ 5.00 for shipping from Thailand to trans shipper
$37.60 for shipping to my location (double-bag, heat pad, fees etc)
~~~~~~~~
$56.60 TOTAL COST for one male crowntail betta. And I spent another $57 on preparing his aquarium for when he arrives and I've only started with the plants and other decor.
Yeah, for that price he should be trained to jump through flaming hoops, it's true... but I'm honestly not bothered by it. I'll just make sure and have more fish contained in my next purchase so the shipping fee will be lower.
So there you go. And from what I see, expect to pay anything from $50-$60 on any bettas shipped from other countries. ^__^;;
There ya go.
Yeah... he wasn't cheap, to be sure!! ^__^;;
He didn't arrive in this Monday's shipment to the transhipper!! :sad:
She said he should come in with the next lot on May 4th. I figure that gives me some time to get the plants I ordered in settled and maybe have the tetras in. I haven't decided on what bottom-cleaners I want.
2 oto cats... heard they are great small-space algae eaters and great for plants.
3-4 shrimp... also good algae-eaters, but concerned about bettas reaction to them.
1 snail... concerned betta might pick at it. Also not sure if they eat live plant leaves or just detrius and algae growth.
3 pygmy cories... the last option because I need algae eaters for my slow-growing anubias plants (I have two different varieties) and cories, much as I love 'em, aren't much for the stuff. ^_^;;
Holy Moley! He is AMAZING!!!! I am so jealous! I couldn't even think of a name for something that beautiful. Is this your first time buying online?
Yeah... fish anyways. But even though he's been pricey, I think he'll be worth it when he comes in.
I'm thinking his name will be Damien so it will go with my 'heaven and hell' motif. When I find the perfect opaque white or platinum gold halfmoon to be the 'heaven' part, his name will be 'Gabriel'. :D
Coolness...
You purchased this fish 3 weeks ago and it hasnt been shipped yet or has it? How long is the total transit time? Hopefully he arrives in good health!
