ok well heres the deal...i had setup my tank, but didnt like the fact that my water was cloudy...so i removed the water so i can do a much better job at cleaning the gravel (as it was from a older tank and dirty)... well i cleaned the gravel and was ready to put it back in the tank and noticed that i had left my heater on (this was one of those cheap glass heaters) and had broke,

SO.... the problem is that i have a certain budget that i take out of my pay that i get every two weeks and thats it. i had already used up this weeks budget on some other supplies....

my question is....if i just setup my tank and leave the filters running without a heater for about a week....would it be ok?...there are no fish or anything in the tank.....:dance2: :dance2: :dance2:

If there are not any fish, there shouldn't be any issues. What kind of cycle are you planning on doing?

Wait til you get paid and then get a Visitherm Stealth. It will save you money in the long run.
I agree - they really are the best heaters. When you get it, get it at Petsmart. Bring a printout of the price from their website, and they'll match it. It'll cost you $20 at the most, and there won't be any shipping.

Yes, you can run it fishless until you get the heater...:hang:

i swear half of the people on this forum must be sales reps for visitherm

not me boss. i bought an el cheapo heater that actually turned out to be wonderfully nice.. 300W titanium with a separate temp. sensor, and an external controller! cost me the same as a name-brand heater of lesser capabilities would have.
