Cory cats and Oscar

what do you mean by "conditioning"

Those Oscars are nowhere near full grown. I certainly hope you're not holding your breath that this arrangement will work forever.

Even though it can work, I would not do it, as the oscars will eventually eat the Corydoras and possibly die from doing so. Not worth the risk.

I have conditioned the Oscars with food.

What I have figured out was that the general rule of thumb is to feed Oscars every day or two.

When I did that - the red Oscar was trying to eat whatever he thought could fit in his mouth.

Just because people don't want all the mess so they feed less does not mean that the Oscars aren't hungry.

If they are kept well fed and satisfied and eliminate their territories by changing the design of their tank everytime you do a vacuum, partial water change, and major water change. You condition them to be less aggressive.

Bottom Line: Food, Territory, and Mating are the key to their aggression triggers.
When you control those; you eliminate most of the issue's at hand!

Sure they are not full grown - but at nearly 16 cm (over 6 inches) each, they are certainly big enough to eat the Cory.
ONE MORE THING TO KEEP IN MIND: Cory's have barbs like a catfish - it 's their defense!

Also; my Oscars actually KNOW which fish are food and which are NOT ....

I put Guppy's or Rosie's in there and the feeding frenzy is full blown!

So; IF they are familiar with eating LIVE fish several times a month and do not eat the tank mates - it is my calculation that their ability to be taught to do right is possible.

However; I am not saying it is totally out of the question that the Cory won't become a meal. If it gets eaten - it WILL be the Red Oscar that will eat it.

I think that is the male!

Here is some food for thought - they aren't eating the 5 Green Tiger Barbs either.

Grant the fact that I spend a lot of time studying these guys - being young enough to stay active and already retired (sort of).
