Started Mini Bow 2.5 Pico Reef!

As I mentioned, I added 2 new frags and 3 nassarius snails yesterday. I also did a 25% water change just to be safe- I know it is difficult to keep perams stable in such a small tank, and I want to do my best to accomplish that. I tested the water a little while ago after work.
pH= 7.8
ammonia=0
nitrite= 0
nitrate= 10
temp= 78
SG= 1.023 (I mixed up the water a bit weak the other day so it dropped from 1.024.)

Here are my new pics!

and a couple full tank shots; I took the bottom part off the tank and I think it looks better.

Things seem to be going well at this point, hopefully that will continue! And hopefully my new zoo's will open up more.:)

As always, opinions are welcome! Y'all know more about this than I do, lol.

Thanks so much for the compliment! I would love a yellow clown goby, but i just don't think I have the room.

Well, I know I said I wasn't going to do this, but I couldn't resist buying a yellow clown goby this afternoon. If I can't keep him happy, then I won't keep him. This is the best pic I could get for now...

I also got some purple mushrooms today. I really like the look of this rock.

And I finally figured out something to do with my new light!:dance: It's the Coralife 9 inch 2x18 watt strip (that doesn't work with the Coralife mounting legs). I ended up removing 2 screws on each side of the light, and I replaced them with screw eyes. The screw eyes hold the thin chains onto the light. Then I made my BF drill a couple holes in the underside of the cabinet, and I screwed hooks into the bottom of the cabinet. The light now hangs from under the cabinet.

Other random pics- my zoos look pretty happy, I think.

Let me know what you think so far.:)

It's live rock rubble. I opted to ditch the sponge because I have been told that they can lead to nitrate problems in SW. I filled the chamber completely with the rubble to give my bio filter the most surface area possible on which to grow.

You really do need to get the pH back up to 8.2 - 8.4 range..Use of a buffer can do this for you.

Very nice!

I know, I am hoping that the suspended light will help me with this, rather than the MiniBow hood that I was using before. There's plenty of gas exchange going on now. When I started the tank, the pH was 8.2-8.3 so I think it is the hood that was giving me problems. Right now I am going to try raising pH slowly just through water changes. If that doesn't work I will buy a buffer.

Thank you for the advice!
