A few random questions.

My Firefish has this strange problem. He will have a little white "bubble" on his skin. Then the next day. its gone. then a day later its in a different spot. then its gone. this has been going on for about 4-5 days. It's so odd. Sometimes I see a little bubble, other times there are no signs of anything. He's eating well, swimming around, has a cave he loves and is behaving as normal as I can tell? Anyone know what that might be? Is it something I should be alarmed about?

I discovered a bunch of tiny little white "cotton ball" type fluffy things with a round umbrella coming out of the tip of the cotton ball. There are about 8 on my tonga branch. I tried to take a picture, but it came out horrible. They are barely half a centimeter at best guess of size. Without pics I know its hard.... Any ideas what these are?

Sponges? But I don't know why it would be on your firefish

do the cottonballs look like little white pineapples?
i had those in my rock for a while. they are sponges and they went away after a couple of weeks.

yes, thats a great description.

might be sponges...even a bad pic may help us better. do u have the ISO setting on the cam?
as for the firefish its hard to tell can just be bubbles, or can be ich....do u have visible bubbles in the water?

umm, some yes. Not very many though. Not like its a bad problem or anything.

I'll try to take pics again tonight... Whats ISO?

the bubble keeps moving on my firefish. it moves up and down his back fin. within about a cenitmeter of the other bubble. then sometimes appears further up on his body for a few hours then dissappears. it's not like a grain of salt either. doesn't look like any of the marine ich pictures I've seen online and doesn't look like freshwater ich so far either. It looks like a small little blister or bubble. It's hard to describe. Sometimes its not there at all, but then is back the next day. He's still acting normal but I'm not adding anything to this tank until this problem clears up. anyone know what this could be? (the pictures were worthless that I took of his tail)

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 10
salinity - 1.0024
pH 8.3
temp - 76.5

oh and that pineapple description is spot on. I went home and looked at the "sponges". def them.

if the spots were purple i'd say that was normal, especially if it's a male. but since their white i gonna venture it's a little shed.
have you changes the params drastically recently? add water a little too salty? not salty enough? any meds ur using?

nope, everything is very stable. no meds.... water is good. i check everyday.

the bizarre spot appears on his tail fin. right in the reddist part of his tail.

i've only had him two weeks and i don't have a QT.
