90g show w/some plants...did a bit of pruning recently.

Fish: bunch 'o Rainbowfish...1 chinese algae eater.
Plants: couple Anubias, couple Crypts, Java Moss.
Substrate: 4" Fluorite
Filtration: QuietOne pump, OceanClear Canister filter
Controller: AquaDyne Octopus 3000 w/pH, ORP, conductivity, temp probes.
CO2: Good sized welding bottle runs tank for 6-9 mos...solenoid valve on one leg...constant slow bleed on other leg.
pH: 7.0 +- 0.5
Light: 4X48" tubes...mix of Phillips and Actinic...11hrs/day
Heater: 250W built in to PVC plumbing on bottom floor of stand...controlled by Octopus...temp nominally 78F.
Cooling: 4X3.5" low-noise fans in hood, 1X5" fan in stand to cool internals, 1X3.5" CPU fan w/heatsink on back surface of QuietOne to minimize pump heat transfer to water.
Leak Sensor: Water leak sensor in base of stand...just in case!

Summary: Lots 'o fun...lots 'o $...worth every penny.

Does your robot do the water changes? I hope so... I'd be half swimming, trying to vac something that high. The 'techie' in me wants to steal that sensor, hook it up to a webcam, and broadcast the values all the time. Yum yum....

That's a great tank !

One of the few I've seen with no background which still looks brilliant !

Well done.

My dad and I built the house and if I had it to do all over again I would have buried Hot/Cold and drain lines to this spot and do just that! With valves I have, I connect a hose to the brass hose connect visible in lower left corner of the stand picture and open the red ball valve just to the right. Then I close the blue ball valve/quick connect to the right of the cannister. This causes the pump to drain the tank. Refill is done by hose from bathroom close by and can be done through that same connect, or through the connect on the cannister, or over the top into the tank. I usually do the over the top as it reduces the risk of pump+hose pressure from blowing a leak. Still ruminating about the auto water change deal though. I have a "peristaltic" pump that I'm going to investigate using to dose fertilizer as well as shots of hydrogen peroxide automatically. Auto fish feeder maybe in the offing for when vacation comes. Like you I enjoy engineering this stuff. I bought the extra long surgical tools to reach the bottom and snip the plants...magnets clean the glass real well. The extra long pump uptake tube pivots just past the anubias and over the wood to the water surface which makes cleaning a cinch. With the intake screen a couple of inches off the gravel it scavenges virtually all loose detritus and java moss "crumbs" from the beasts. I'm working on getting one of my old laptops under the tank on a pull-out drawer because the Octopus has serial interface that I can capture tank data and put it in my server database for local/remote monitoring of everything. Hmmm....water changes remotely from over the web....

Very nice!

I wish I could pay the mortgage doing this and I'd quit my corp job in a heartbeat! Always willing to help someone out...I'm in S. CA.
