....i like the nutley pet center a lot, i used to go to petco on rt.3 (use to be njpets), umm i know theres one in rutherford on park ave. but i havnt been there in a while, theres a petsmart in paramus next to bulington coat factory, that i also like a lot, but thats a long drive for me so i dont really go there as much...um i think theres some more but i cant remember them....but yeah which is ur favorites and what other places do u go to??

If you are ready to make a serious purchase of fish or supplies; why not drive a couple hours to the new Big Al's Aquarium Supercenter in Plymouth Meeting PA. It is suppose to open this week. The sign on the door says it will be the biggest aquarium in Eastern US.

Just get on the PA Turnpike west, get off the Norristown exit (about 30 minutes from NJ Turnpike intersection) follow Germantown Pike west (away from Philly) for 3 miles. Big Al's is in the North Towne Plaza on the left. A Dunkin Donut is on the right. If you reach the light at route 202, you went too far.

i live in clifton, about 5 mintues away from you.
dont go to nutley pet center! everytime i go in there, there are always dead fish lying around probably atleast 1 in everyy tank.

theres two stores i like to go to. they are a little bit more expensive, but once you see the selection you'll know why.

1- Either google Absolutely Fish, or go to http://www.absolutelyfish.com/ and get directions. they are in clifton on route 46 west. they have nothing but fish.(and inverts of course) they were named the best aquatic store in the US a bunch of years in a row. Tanks are sparkling clean and they've got pretty much everything and anything.

2- Try going to Route 4 aquarium, 143 Broadway(route 4), Elmwood Park NJ.
I used to go here until i found absolutely fish. havne't been there in a while but used to have a pretty nice selection and tanks looked good.

and as for the store on park ave in rutherford. they are alright, their tanks are clean usually, but for some reason theres always a lot of dead fish in there too. plus the guy that works there is the biggest a*hole in the world.

Dave listed the 2 stores I couldn't remember in my PM to you. Both good stores where Absolutely Fish is a cut above and has an awsome SW section too. The fresh water tanks I saw looked like they were individually filtered. Nice plant tanks too. great variety of fish and varied sizes.

The pet store next to Burllington coat fac. is Petgoods. Across rt17 and south a bit is Petco and across from the Garden state mall is Petsmart with Petsmart being the best of this bunch as far as fresh water goes. But it really depends on what you're looking for. I find all fish stores change up what they have and you need to go in armed with info on anything you want.

Don't go to Aquarium Warehouse on Rt. 4 in Fort Lee. I got some neons there and they had fungus and killed everything in my tank. It's also really overpriced.

I love Absolutely Fish. www.absolutelyfish.com That is an awesome fish store.

I also go out to Long Island to Aquarium Adventure in Carle Place. It's HUGE and really nice. About an hour from Hoboken with no traffic. www.aquariumadventure.com

Rainbow Aquarium in Wayne is has really healthy discus and angels and other things. I think the guy is a discus breeder actually. I got a gorgeous botia striata from him. www.rainbowaquarium.com

I've heard good things about Scuffy's Pet Center in Wayne.

That's all I have to say about that.
