Guys -Hv just started a 72 G SW - Been cycling with LR for last month or so. I hv a Wet dry filter with a U tube in the over flow box hanging at the back of the tank. Now this U tube is losing siphon almost every day even with sufficient water - Somebdoy told me I shoudl be buy a CPR Overflow box with an aqua lifter pump. This is expensive and hence wanted to ask your advice before i buy. Will buying this solve my problem
Another problem: I introduced live rock bought from a person who was breaking his SW- Very deep purple coralline algae growth was there - one of the rock is turning white - is it becos of too much lite. I have cut it down now - will it ever grow back or have I lost it for good

Hi there.....

Using a hob filter is not the best way to removing water from the tank down to the sump..It is usually the flow of the setup which causes this..what is the make and model of the filter and what is th make and model of the sump return pump?

The white you are seeing on your live rock is only just a little die-off...it happens all the time when you move rock from one setup to another. Many things can cause this like lighting, calcium and water parameters. I would not change your light schedule, the rock will adapt to your system slowly enough...so, nothing to worry about...

I have a A miracle Wet Dry filter , dont knowthe return pump siz. The return pipe from filter sump is to the far right end - and the Siphon overflow is to my far right back side of the tank

If your loosing syphon, it sounds like your taking water out of the tank faster than what your return pump can return...hence, the water level drop just that little bit to keep breaking the syphon...
