lol i ate some in the bahamas too. there actually good. specially fried.

why do you say it will be a conch only tank? do they reproduce faster then snails or kill things? i read they were really good cleaners so i ordered them since i have a coral bed.

ps. as was aclimating them to the tank using slow drip method and while waiting i tested the ph of the water they came in and it was 7.2!! i hope they acclimate to my 8.4 ph without any loss. they been in the tnk for about an hour now.

Not because of their reproductive habits but because they get huge. Each one will grow to about a foot in length. If you wanted a conch, a fighting conch might have been a better choice. I presume these will be fine for a while, but they'll start to outgrow your tank and you'll need to find them new homes. (Or, per the discussion above... fry them.) ;)
 
right now i got 3 and there les than an inch long. how long will it take temto grow huge size?ill keep 1 and fry the otehr 2 for dinner and keep there shells to make sounds with.
 
Oh they wont get a foot in a tank. They might get 5" IF that, and it'll take them for freakin ever to reach it.

And I have the fighting conch's he speaks of. They're pretty cool. I added some today and they instantly buried themselves and stuck their eyeballs out of the surface of the sand and looked around LOL.
 
Just go custom on your tank.

Queen conch will bulldoze your tank. Also, I would not recommend eating them; not eveything you put in a reef tank is human-safe.

Fighting Conch or "Konk"...

pretty cool. and i got the corl bed so im definitly gonna look around for some of these. as for my queens they havnt dig into the san yet. as a matter a fact they are cimbing on my rocks lol
