Mafia Game 3

now remember people, if we get all crazy and point fingers at random people based on a whim, we won't get anywhere. we innocents need to be a team, and we need to be a stronger team than the mafia. so lets do some brainstorming before we go poking other people's eyes out.

As a complete newbie I am utterly confused. Sheesh - and I thought this was such a quiet town! And now I have to pick someone to lynch?! How cruel. hmmmm - going to re-read all the posts while having a nice cool drink.

It's a way to get things rolling. For instance, let's say 16 out of 20 of us, are hanging out at the water fountain in the middle of the city, all trying to figure out who would want the Mayor dead. Soandso points to Forumer01 and says 'I never liked him. He always seemed shifty!' Then Forumer01 says "what? It was only the glare from the sun in my eyes!" Then Soandso says "oh I guess that could be true." Then Forumer02 says "what about you Soandso? Why should we think you're innocent?" And so on and so forth.

Eventually it will lead to a lynching. But primarily right now, people are being called out to make a case for themselves, ones people aren't sure about. And the votes will probably change, as more people make a case for themselves and shift the blame to others. Although some DO have some lengths of robe nearby, just incase. :P

Thanks NeonJulie - I wasn't quite sure exactly how this thing worked. Now to meet at the water fountain.........(kidding)

Pouring the last dregs of the coffee down the sink jessicar613 reads the letters to the editor one last time. NeonJulie sure does know a lot about ACVille and its inhabitants. Maybe its time to give her a call. But something about her just doesn't ring true.....

Jessicar613 shakes her head and watches out the window as the gallows rise in the town square. JdoubleR seems a level headed sort, yet there he stands, rope in hand, gesturing heatedly as the townspeople whisper amongst themselves. Even FishLady's glare from her avatar is increasingly suspicious. Who is she looking at anyway?? Better make a decision......... before they start heading this way.

I vote NeonJulie

You're right, I've been around a while. Thought that would work to my favor, since why would I profess to know so much if I wasn't innocent? It's a good way to get me killed, wouldn't you think?

The question is, is potentially knowing people from our town really a bad thing? What if it's actually a good thing?

In response to your "doesn't ring true" statement, keep in mind we have reasons to attempt to protect ourselves for the greater good. I'll go ahead and tell you I'm Innocent. Because I am. Does that change anything though? Don't believe me? Ah well I'm not surprised. *lol*

At any rate, she asked a question, I was being helpful. If you want to lynch me, based on helping a potential Townsie PLAY better... well maybe that threatens you? Either way, I'm not changing my vote to you yet. But I do think you should reconsider and maybe we could be friends? Actually, let's say I might let you be my friend. I'll consider it at least.

It would be cliche to say "don't vote for me, you'll be sorry! You're wrong!!" so I'm not going to do it. Sounds like bad lines in a movie anyway. ;)

But to be honest, something about MacCrawdad is really not jiving with me right now. I feel like his responses are cynical and cutting, rather downer posts as opposed to trying to rally the townies. It's not that I'm sure, but he seems to jump every which way on people, and tends to throw their responses back in their faces and not necessarily in a constructive way. It could be a defense mechanism from paranoia, or guilt... and speaking of paranoia, RBishop does seem a bit concerning.

But I want to see how the crowd falls with this one. I think IceH20 maybe getting punished for the wrong reasons, so I want to see what happens if

I vote to lynch MadCrawdad.

Let's face it, Mad Crawdad might as well be Scarface or TommyGun Tony! *lol*

sorry if my strategy of rattling cages and seeing how folks respond offends you, but it's not my week to give pep talks....I'm out looking for mafia and may end up stepping on some toes to save the town.

at any rate, the fact that you would vote for somebody because you think their posts don't always seem very nice, regardless of what they're saying, tells me that you don't care if you lynch an innocent or not.....not a real strong townie move. it's usually the mafia who don't care which innocent is lynched....although I don't really think you're mafia, at this point. usually the mafia will let an innocent lead the charge against another innocent and then jump on afterwards....that way when it's revealed that an innocent has been lynched, it leaves the leader of the charge hanging in the breeze. the folks to watch out for are the folks who jump on second, third, or fourth without giving any thoughts as to why...

as far as trying to unite the town, it got BKW1982 killed in Mafia2....but I'll give it a shot:

We Like Cookies
We Like Brownies
Kill the Mafia
C'mon Townies!
Yayyyyyy Team

.....now everyone run off the field while jumping around like crazy-folk.

I do care not to lynch one of my own. It wasn't so much that I felt your posts were mean. Mean may get to the truth, and if so, that's fine. But to me, it was more like some of them were more reaction, cynical, and less actually helpful. A response, but with not too much substance. My request succeeded though, as now I have more to go on about you with which to try to make a decision. Rather than a couple of oneliners. (You did have one lengthy post, but not recently.)

I probably will change my vote after additional evidence. But I'm not going to rush my next choice either. I feel like if I was an innocent, nothing I've done would be anything but helpful to the townies: therefore, the townies should not want to see me disappear. The mafia however, they'll do one of three things. They'll either wait to see what I do (because I'm not a guppy and I can make logical decisions), and then follow the charge as you mentioned, or they'll try to encourage the townies to turn on me if they regard me as a threat.

*Tucks away photos of Mad Crawdad in cheerleader uniform, just in case "ACVille Rag" makes an appearance at the Coffee Shop.*

Interestingly, Jessica pegs me after admitting JRR and Fishlady are suspicious. But she doesn't give us too much to go on about herself. Look over there! Or over there! Anywhere but here! And Rbishop still looks kind of sinister to me...

Well, I think I need to be a bit of a sheep for awhile, and figure out who to trust and who not too. I need more information - so far there is only finger pointing with no action having been taken - how can someone be guilty of an event that hasn't happened yet? Or might not even happen? After all, all we have is what we have read in the newspaper, and do you believe everything they tell you? And who is the editor? Can he be trusted, or is this a red herring? Or am I reading entirely toooo much into this too early? OK - maybe I should just shut up and watch.
