I just got two little clown loaches and put them in my 30 gallon. The guy at the store told me they would be fine with my fish I already have, but just want to make sure. I've got all my fish listed at the bottom in my signature. Also, he told me they would help control the snail problem in my tank. Is this also true? Thanks.

They should be kept in a group no less than 3. They are very social. I'd suggest getting at least one more. They'll be fine with your current fish though.
Clowns will outgrow your tank fairly fast. They are agressive eaters and may soon outcompete the corys (which should also be kept in groups larger than 2).
I wouldnt say fast. They only grow to 4-5 inch in a year. So Id pick up another two, but upgrade within 6 months.
At 4-5" they would be far to large for a 30 gallon tank. IMO you need to start shopping for a 75 gallon.

The growth rate is dependent on the conditions provided to them. The OP must stop buying more clowns until he can upgrade his tank.

I started with a small pair of clown loaches in my 72G discus tank because of the exploding pond snail population that moved in with some live plants. One of them got itself wedged inside a crack of my large piece of driftwood and perished. I know they like to have more company but also know 1) they get large eventually and I won't be able to keep them in my discus tank forever, and 2) I didn't want to remove him and have the snails start over. They are awesome snail eaters. There's not a pond snail to be found!!! He seems very content, he lives in one of the natural cracks of my driftwood and sometimes goes into the BN pleco cave I have in there. He comes out and eats with the discus....I think he thinks he is a discus. He loves frozen bloodworms and he does not out compete either the discus or the cories for food. The cories and discus are fat and growing! Clown loaches are sensitive to changing water conditions so I know my tank is perfect when i see his beautiful colors and see that he's growing and happy everyday! Hopefully one day when I have to part with him I can find someone with a clan of clown loaches that will take him.
