GBR eggs!Again!

thanks all!

this is my 4th or 5th round of breeding GBRs, and i've had success with simply keeping it in my normal tank water, pH 6.6. but i did bump up the temp to 84

im getting my friends camera today so i should have pics up by later tonight!:headbang2:

sweet,
I just moved a buch of angel wigglers and on recommendation from a breeder..filled the grwoout tank1/2 with parent tank ater then filled it rest of the way with ro/di
they are doing great..been ther 4 days. and getting more active.I'm going to use this method on the next wildX if they spawn again.

good luck

Update:

so the tank is a 29 gallon. The GBRs are being extremely territorial. One guards the eggs by swimming right on top of them, while the other guards the half of the tank and makes sure no one even comes close, and they switch on and off every few minutes. The whole rest of the tank is not allowed on the GBRs half.

When i woke up this morning 2 cardinals were dead with eyes gauged out and a couple marks on them. And i was lookin over to noticed the male VISCIOUSLY attacking an ADF that made its way to about an inch away from the eggs.

Any ideas on what to do? I do have another tank but its a 38 gallon that i've been constantly dealing with mass fish deaths, so i really would like to try to stay away from moving anything into until i cure the problem.

Any ideas on what to do? .

That is unfortunate. My Bolivian Rams breed every three weeks like clockwork, and though they get feisty, they do not beat up or kill they other fish.

I've heard GBR's are a bit meaner when spawning though.

If you are intent on having GBR's then get a bigger tank or have the GBR in their own tank to prevent "defense kills" if you will.

What is your water like. I had 1 male and two females for over a year before they died and I never got eggs once. Do you every get fry or just eggs?

Water =
pH 6.6, soft, temp 82F
My first pair laid eggs every 3 weeks without fail. They died of an unknown cause. I got fry the first 3 times but the parents ate them. The last time they spawned i still have about 10 fry that are 3 months old.

This is my first spawning with my new pair.
