Clears up fast...almost can't tell I just changed the substrate. Added some more Anachris in the back to fill it out...I think I'll add the fish in tonight, take a few pictures, and put the lights out.

Well it came in, did as I said above, and well...it's looking good. Much easier to plant stuff in then the pea-gravel I had...now just waiting for it to clear up a bit (I can see the back of the tank, but it's really hazy) and for the water to warm up before throwing my fish back in....

The UV filter is usually a box that shines UV light on water running through it...at worst you'd get a sunburn sitting next to it all day, imo.

I think it was the parasite meds I added right before I added these guys...had some neons dying, appeared to be NTD and was trying to prevent it from spreading...the meds weren't supposed to affect Bacteria (and it said it was bio-cycle safe on the packaging) but that's all I can conclude...

Another little update...I'm pretty sure I have more then 1 type of snail...saw another just now that's too small (smaller then the one in my hand) to photograph, but appears to have more of a ramhorn style shell...I'll probably lose most of these snails in the gravel-change I'm planning this...

I just don't see how Lettuce is any different then any of my other plants...how would it attract the snails better...that, and wouldn't my Otos tear apart a piece of lettuce first?

Well I was looking in my tank this morning to check my fish, when I spotted something weird on the glass...After looking at it from both sides, I realized it was a baby snail (I haven't added plants since the 13th, and didn't see any snails on any plants I have added thus far nor in the tank...

My LFS could get it for me at about 29/bag...I can get it cheaper at DrsFosterSmith.com if I want more then 1 bag (or include it with another order I'm gonna make). None of the LFSs around here stock it.
