You could try a tube cleaner to scrub the inside of the tubing out.

I would call the one from liveaquaria useless it says you can put new world cichlids with lake African cichlids with caution, and the other two are just limited on there selection. Your best bet is to come up with a list of fish that you like or are interested in and people here will help you...

Looks like a 20g high or a 29g to me, and if it is they will out grow the tank but they do look healthy.

I never would of thought that they were shipped liked that.

As others have said the best Ph is a stable Ph, and take what the LFS says with a grain of salt because most of them just want the money.
