my nerites leave eggs like that. but they have (?) to be in salt water to hatch.

If too little lighting is the problem, how come they did just - great for the lily, fine for the amazon swords - for the first year and a half with just one T8? They also had no co2 at that time, and the only addition was the occasional squirt of flourish.

I got mine!! Thanks! Most of my other root tabs were lost when I changed the substrate, so I there shouldn't be any trouble seeing how these do on their own. (Now if only the mts, cories, & khulies will stop uprooting my baby plants so they can get some roots growing! lol)

the bulbs themselves aren't old. I'm not sure how good the reflectors are, I did the best I could (with what I had. I was so proud of myself, lol). Immediately behind the bulbs is bright white metal - that came with the kit, then I made some silver (aluminum) reflectors for the sides to help...

I know my cories probably stir the top 1/8 - 1/4, but when going after worms they'll stick their whole head in the sand to get at them lol! (so possibly the top half inch) They've made a huge dent in the worm population. I'm not sure if they will even eat anything else anymore, they've ignored...

what type of snails are they? different kinds are more or less susceptible to salt. mystery snails - depends on who you ask nerites - will only reproduce in salt water, so should be ok in salted setups mts - I have read both that they are intolerant of salt and that they are great with it. So...

I might have enough left after I get some more plants to get these, if you still have some left then. I always need these little guys, they don't like my soft water.
