    Strange White Stuff

The white stuff, is it crusty or soft? If crusty it may be a mineral buildup of some sort (idk what) and is something I've seen on my heaters in the past. Soft and it's probably something you should wipe off...

    Bristle nose breeding tank help

A 10 gallon tank with proper filtration can, I suppose, house them for a short bit but they will grow larger. They need a 40 gallon or larger tank to be truly happy and that's assuming there are only a few of them. With 8 you would probably want something along the lines of a 75+ gallon tank...

    Easy, unusual 125g aquascaping ideas?

That 1:1 ratio is really the problem. Here are some ideas (including ones stated already) with some wee additions by me haha: a) Pollution Tank - Bottles, cans, tires, boots... you can plant it and give it special lighting too. b) Dock Tank - A few large wood-cut pillars in a sandy base with...

    My fish have torn fins.

Ok everyone, calm down. This person reminds me of me when I first started the hobby (always coming up with reasons I can't do something). It took me a number of years and a great deal of money to realize that even if something is expensive to buy if it helps keep the tank and fish safe then it...

    Easy, unusual 125g aquascaping ideas?

As gabe said, a pollution tank is a good bet for "inorganic" but you could also try out a Glass Tank. That is, a tank with glass pillars, glass bottles, glass fish (either live or fake). Another idea is one I've always wanted to do but never been able to manage: Ancient Ruin Tank. Stone...

    My fish have torn fins.

That ammonia says to me "Cycle, coming up!" so I'd check your perms daily until it goes away. Besides that and water changes there isn't much you can do.

    My fish have torn fins.

Oh, continuing what MostlyHarmless said, have you tested your perms? You could be suffering a recycle of your tank because of the move. Also, did you drain/clean/dry out your filter?

    My fish have torn fins.

I also recommend water changes. To reduce stress you can use a siphone for the first half. Stress wise the refilling process won't be so damaging as not doing enough water changes will. It's one of those cases where the benefits outweigh the cost. That said, what bottom feeders do you have...

How do I go about testing these two levels?

Blue eyed forktails (rainbowish) refuse to eat

Haha, so they were probably looking at the food and thinking "Why do you torment us? This is too much food. That is truly evil, fishkeeper person."

    Drinking tank water...

For the flavor of course! Who doesn't like the taste of fish poop and dirty water?

    Water changes in hot climate

Haha, sorry, I can be scatterbrained at time. OP, what temp does your tank settle at during the day, if you know? If it's over 85 you should probably increase aeration and think up a way to cool it down besides that. An open-top tank would, I think, cool off faster then a sealed one (due to...

    Water changes in hot climate

Wait, so the tank settles at around 80? Then you'll probably be fine, though the fish may be a bit baffled by the heat difference.

    Drinking tank water...

Wow Gabe, must've been some clear water... good thing you didn't have any fish in it XD

    Drinking tank water...

If such is the case then my stomach has ick, at least 2 fungus, and a parasite. At least that much. I rather doubt that we can get sick from drinking tank water due to our digestive tract being built and designed to destroy all bacteria, parasites, and viruses that come in with food and drink...

    Fishfriend's 20 Gallon "Quiet" Tank

Due to my mom being scared of collapsing floors (-_-) all of my tanks are in the basement... and below ground level... haha.

    Fishfriend's 20 Gallon "Quiet" Tank

@Danny-O: Haha, I wish all my tanks were nice and superlow stocked - would make my life easier too. Instead I'm stuck with weekly WCs on a 75 gallon with buckets to refill -_- I managed to located the adorable sparkling gouramis when I was fixing a tipped over filter (long story), still doing...
