So I know if you stick your hand/ arm with an open wound you can contract fish keepers disease or whatever. But what about drinking and being splashed in the eyes?

If such is the case then my stomach has ick, at least 2 fungus, and a parasite. At least that much.

I rather doubt that we can get sick from drinking tank water due to our digestive tract being built and designed to destroy all bacteria, parasites, and viruses that come in with food and drink and general stupidity. But I'm not a doctor so I can't confirm any of this haha.

Our digestive tract can certainly not kill every pathogen, otherwise there wouldn't be such thing as a food-borne disease or illness...

TB (Mycobacteria) is probably what you are referring to in regards to entering through an open wound. I'm not sure how effective they are at entering the body through other means though. In terms of most parasites we see, however, I would be less concerned as parasites can be highly specific to certain hosts, but not always.

As with any "unclean" water source I'm sure it's not highly advised to drink tank water as there is no way of knowing exactly what microorganisms are living in the tank and which may be more pathogenic to humans.

I see...well during my weekly wc's I got splashed and had my mouth open and everything. Kind of freaking out, I mean I just ingested fish poo water. It was before the wc had happened...so gross.

don't worry about it. You probably drink more than that off your lips when you swim in a lake/river full of fish AND human waste

Last time I did it was when I put tank water in an empty water bottle to have it tested... two big gulps later...

Wow Gabe, must've been some clear water... good thing you didn't have any fish in it XD

I would not worry too much. I have had my hands in the tank and then picked up food and ate it , ect without any problems so far.
