I had a similar problem in Korea...my nitrates read about 40ppm out of the tap, and there was little I could do to fix it. Unless you have fish that are REALLY sensitive to Nitrates, you can use the 30-40ppm reading as your "baseline" and then try to keep the nitrates below 60-70...sure it's...
