MAFIA 22: Who is who?

Maybe...but you get awfully nervous when the votes are on you and blame everyone but yourself.

Maybe...but you get awfully nervous when the votes are on you and blame everyone but yourself.

Yep...because I know I'm on the town's side. I don't know you if you are...and your actions (especially putting someone I know is innocent at risk when you could have stayed with the more guilty looking party) has a taste of "something not right" to it. And yes, once I get it stuck in my head that someone's bad, I have a hard time changing that...I did it to Beth in my first game, and I may be doing it to you now, but I try to watch myself for it.

Newb or not, I'll go for someone looking like scum every time.

Ok...I know that post above sounds dumb. The whole thing I'm saying is I don't quite know what emo is yet, and I'm still trying to discipher that so I can make the right vote before nightfall.

Matt

she summed it up perfectly cause thts what meant.

Srry by vet i mean ppl ive played with. Grins, LC, and MG i dont consider vets cause i havent played with you. With the exception of clown and cory i think of the remaining "vets" orge, dd, and LG are the ones that would make that decision.

Ogre is a calculator, and by that i mean he is good at planning ahead, not to say that he is the only one who does that but Ice is the mod, Mad isnt playing, and Zsandman isnt playing.......so my next suspect is Ogre.

But Wait Theres More!!

Ogre just the top of the list, he isnt the only suspect

Hmm OK, I'll accept your definition as vet as your own right now but after playing on a communicating team in the last 2 games I got to know a good amount of the players. HN is one I'd not have offed the first night if I had a PR this time and it puzzles me why anyone that knows someone like an HN, DD, Mad, Ice, etc. would hit them versus investigating them. As dangerous as they can be on the opposite team, they are an asset on your own team.

I'm willing to leave this as a point of disagreement on game style for now and concentrate on other things for the time being.

With not much else to go on and some time on my hands I've gone back to update my thoughts posted Thursday morning in 329. My updated comments are in red :

Mg: A bit giggly this game which seems odd for Mg. And this seems very guilty to me. Oh and Mg...<salt flick>
To answer this post I'd say the ones to watch are often those that say much of nothing in an attempt to blend in. Kind of like you are doing.

Beth: The more I consider this, the more plausible it seems.
You're certainly not wearing the target you've worn in other games I've played with you. So either you've learned your lessons on how to play the innocent you are...or you're playing different because you are not innocent as you were in my last 2 games with you.

Jpap: apparently suffered from mafia posting withdrawal and is now babbling
Is Jpap still playing? Until I came back to add comments on him I had frankly forgotten he was here.

HN: Hmm when you say you're just trying to start to get into Ice's head are you referencing some off thread chat? Perhaps questioning him about your mafia role?
MAFIA SCUM

LC: Was this a call for the Don to investigate you? Looking a bit hitman'ish there LC. And how are the odds in your favor? Is it because the boss gets a hit right after the lynch? When you started to do the he/she thing in the pirate game a lot you did it as a cover.
I've been thinking about this post, perhaps it was just a mistake but my recollection is that in your first game you only knew one player on Day One, the magistrate (HN). From what I remember the magistrate didn't say you had guessed who I might be until later in day 2. Point being, either you made a big error when stating that or you are trying to make facts appear different than they are.

LG: Made an awfully big deal out of DD's asking Niko to remove a post when DD was up front and asked for it in the thread and even corrected Niko when he removed the wrong content. Why did you go after her so hard LG? And I didn't see an answer from you regarding this.
I like your point here about an experienced player knowing that HN could be valuable and was worth not hitting the first night until more information was gathered. It makes sense that a newer player that didn't know HN so well would have taken him out. However in the same vein of how this game twists one thinking it also makes sense for a vetern player to bring that possibility up to to cast suspicion elsewhere. It doesn't make you guilty, and I don't feel I am able to read you well. Shoot, I was convinced you were mafia in the pirate game and was obviously wrong about that. Even the mafia thought you were mafia then.

Clown: No read on Clown right now.
Still no read on Clown. I don't know if being friends with him on the other forums is clouding my ability to judge him in the first game I've played with him or not. Maybe?

CT: Only mafia tries to keep out of stuff, and again you said it here, and here. Then you say you'll never do something and yet in the next breath you say you might. The fact that you keep playing the newbie card shows you have a lot to hide. Shoot the more I read your posts and your questioning why others get to question you and why you should answer anything the more evil you appear. With all that, this post bothers me the most.
MAFIA SCUM

JM: lol, you sound evil even when you're not. And although I'd believe that Ice may have tweaked the power roles you seem to know it here. Why is that? And by the way, didn't you use painting as the reason why you couldn't post much when you were pirate scum?
Julz, when you said Sat night, did you mean you'd not be able to post until after nightfall? If so, that is a problem obviously.

RB: seems a bit eager perhaps, Bob what did this mean? And you starting to look a bit like an instigator between Emo and CT. I'll not concentrate too much on that though because those two don't need much help in looking guilty.
Thanks for explaining the first one Bob, if you'd be so kind to explain something else, why did you switch your vote saving LC's butt and doing much what HN did as you put it here?

Ogre: Never played with Ogre before, not even sure of their gender. Not getting any sort of read other than wondering why they'd have voted for LadyG at first and said it was for no reason at all.
Ogre reminds me of Mad a bit. Very helpful in his posts, but that means nothing about Mad because he is either being a helpful townie or he is mafia trying to blend in. It probably means the same with Ogre.

Bkw: Again, never played with BKW before and not sure to make of their few posts.
Nothing meant personally here Bkw but your way of playing is the one I have the most difficulty with. If we all made as little posts as you did the entire game would be less than 50 posts long. Help me out here, how should someone that hasn't played with you before read you?

DD: Not being the typical DD I see when she is innocent. We'll see if that changes though as people have more opportunities to post.
I'm still thinking we need to get you an EPT kit if you're not mafia. Oh and since Ogre has stated how you have played when mafia with him in the past, care to return the favor and tell us what his mafia tells might be?

Cory: I can understand waiting to vote but how about more help than this
Not sure how you managed it but you seemed to be even less helpful here.

Punkkid: Are you saying here that you're smart enough to fool us into thinking your're innocent? And I am not buying the reasons you gave for why you think you don't need to gain the town's trust. Nor do I buy the crying bit.
I really am very uncomfortable with you. Stuff like this and this are exactly the sort of thing mom always told me meant someone was lying.

And something new to add, does Ice usually give clues in night events? In 432 where HN is hit, it was the bartender that took the nod from the mafia don and gave HN the poisoned drink. Perhaps a bit obvious but wasn't Cory the original barkeep in the Motel Game? I'm reaching yeah, but with the lack of posting from some it is difficult not to look for clues wherever possible and Clown sure gave these types of hints when a game mod.

As of now I'd like to retract my vote to lynch LC. While I can't get out of my mind the fact that HN probably knows LC's game style more than anyone here after they were allowed to communicate in the pirate game and HN moving his vote off of LC at the 11th hour makes him look less than innocent I can't deny that everyone needs to be looked at right now. Just the nature of the game this early on. I will say that my top suspects for mafia at the moment are LC and Emo. DD remains my top suspect for pregnant player. :lipssealedsmilie:

Like I said Grins, if you remember, I'm never that helpful in the first few nights, its the way I play. I will become much more help after a few more days and when I get reads on more people. Its the way I play, take it or leave it.

I don't want to make 'not good info' posts, so I'm waiting till I get more info on people. Sometimes posting alot with out good info isn't always better then waiting to post when you have alot of evidence ;)

Wait a second. Are you calling youself the known innocent and casting suspicion on Bob because he voted for you on day one when there is no way anyone could have known your role? If anyone looks like scum there LC it is you. Bob doesn't get a free pass in this game but if you think anyone that may have voted for you on day one looks scummy just because you claim your is innocent that points to you being less smart than I believe you to be. CT looked guilty on day one (and he was) but so did you (and you may still be).

As I told Bob after he erronously thought I had cast an official lynch vote after last night, your reacting is not a good thing for those looking at you. And trust me, we'd all be fools to not be looking at everyone at this point if we are not part of a now communicating team.

Well if you're mafia I encourage you to keep playing that way.

Jules, am I hearing this right? In Mafia, you didn't want to upset anyone??

this game, i could care less, .however, when i was mafia, ..i used that same strategy, ..basically is what i was saying!
