    Where can I buy...

You guys can both check the local custom kitchen or custom counter businesses. They have lots of smallish chunks as waste and will (sometimes) give smaller chunks of slate, granite, etc away free.

RO all the way. It's cheap and no nasty phosphorous or nitrates or <shudder> copper leachings.

Mafia #57: The Great Mafia War- The Game

Hmm I guess this is a moot point... or is it? What was all that stuff you had on Ice WYcco?

Mafia #57: The Great Mafia War- The Game

This only makes sense IF annie AND I are mafia. I know that I'm not. Why are you so sure of Annie John?

Its official, I've converted to the dark side!

Yep, that's what mine looked like. Same sand too. It'll get better quickly. That rock with the spines is freaking awesome!

I know very little about crabs. As far as water, I've got three 5 gallon jugs. Two with salt and 1 with RO water. Like I said, I need RO water about once every two or three weeks. I have to put in about a quart a day to keep up with evaporation. The salt is really for an emergancy water...

Running RO through it for a bit should be fine to get any gunk out. But yeah, that would work too. I keep an Aquaclear 70 HOB filter running on my 44g tank. It's a good thing to have if you need to run carbon or phosphate remover or whatever real quick.

Use RO water for top-offs. Aquatek and River City have water for sale. RO is 25 cents per gallon and salt is a buck twenty five per gallon. For that small a tank, it just makes sense to buy the water you need. I spend about 1.25 per month on water. Do you mean Angel or Angler? AS far as I...

Hey, I live in Austin too, so if you need some advice or help setting things up, let me know. You might also check out my build thread... it's not totally similar, but it might help. http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201280

A good way to take care of that is to get a powerhead/pump (not a korlia) and put a sponge filter on it. Then, when the water clears, you take the sponge off, swish it old tank water and it's clean. This also make a really good additional bacterial and debris filter for your tank.

Mafia #57: The Great Mafia War- The Game

Well, since a train isn't two votes, then is it three votes? Cause until you switched to me, Annie had three votes. Of the two with two votes, my best vote was RB. That's OK John, I've had you as a teammate before and your team, has probably already given you up as nuts. I'm guessing they're...

Its official, I've converted to the dark side!

Welcome to the salty side of aquaria! Sounds to me like you've got a good plan. A few points that might help. I ended up having to add a buffer to my tank to keep the kH up. I mixed it in with the RO water and that kept the shock for the corals down, made it easier to add, and made the tank...

Mafia #57: The Great Mafia War- The Game

Maybe we should make this a two horse race between John and Annie. Everyone else is really set on Annie and I really think we need someone to counter the that train. Just as a way to tell the sheep from the wolves. My top two right now are John and RB. RB: The problem with him is that he...

lime green and bright pink algae

+1 for coralline. I've got every form of algae known to man in my tank and the only pick one is coralline. If it's very flat with no streamers, it's probably coralline.

    Flatworm hunting

So, I found a couple of the red flatworms on my new corals and zoas. I used a monojet syringe (the one with the curved tip) and managed to snag all the visible flatworms (about 6) in about 5 minutes. I almost sucked up a tentacle for the torch coral, but no major damage done.

Mafia #57: The Great Mafia War- The Game

John, Ice, I'm the continual target for everyone because everything I say is scummy and the mafia know that I'm an easy target. I made my case, I happen to agree with Ice's list... up to a point. AMazing that this game is so quiet with everything...
