    Tank Restart (revisited)

Thanks for the encouragement and advice. I might try one in the winter season. When it cools down and I have more free time. I can't wait to see your coral growth in a few months. good luck :)

    Lighting a hex/reef.

I have Sunpod HQI 150w over my 24G. They make them in 250w with the same measurements. It came used with my tank setup and has worked perfectly. They seem built to last. Its pretty silent to. You only hear the small hum of fans. I had a Coralife 96W that drove me crazy with its noise so it was a...

    Tank Restart (revisited)

I always love your coral selection. I wish I had the courage to do clams. They are beautiful.

    Featherduster's 24G Aquapod 150w HQI Reef

Thanks! I also like both. But I like light substrate due to its texture, not color. You can easily find a soft very fine grain sand in light, not possible in black. Or at least not natural black that is reef/tank safe. Thank you. I always look forward your comments. My clowns have mellowed out...

    Featherduster's 24G Aquapod 150w HQI Reef

Update I haven't been on for a while so I figured its time for an update. I am happy to say that all fish are doing well. The sixline made it through QT and now spends his days happily inspecting every inch of the tank. He is actually a model citizen. Minds his own business. My clowns have...

Spots on Clownfish - what is it?

I have the same dot in the exact same place (under the fin). My clown has had it for 3 months now and she is healthy. Its weird because there isn't much that can sting her. I don't have many corals in that tank and she hosts the corner of the tank.

    Need HELP feeding Cardinal fish.

Mine were picky eaters at first and I had get them to eat by buying live brine shrimp. I then moved onto frozen mysis two days later. I placed it by powerheads so it would look like live brine shrimp. They were fooled enough to try it and they liked it.

    Pistol shrimp + goby

Sorry for your losses. Sadly it is highly possible they fought to death. It is not recommended you add similar species or same species together in a nano, especially when one has already claimed the tank and established itself. It sounds like you have the right idea about waiting for live...

    Featherduster's 24G Aquapod 150w HQI Reef

Thanks! This picture is actually taken under flash so the blue tint doesn't show. They are just really that blue :) As for pricing, lets just say I won't be buying more corals for a while. The good thing is I didn't have to pay the $5 per polyp rate that my other LFS charges for blues like...

    My new sump "kit"

Thats an amazing DIY sump. It looks clean and well planned out. I also like the shape. What kind of light are you considering?

Coral Keepers 28 gallon Nano-Cube HQI diary.

Great setup! You are going to have lots of fun picking out corals since you aren't limited on light ;)

    Featherduster's 24G Aquapod 150w HQI Reef

Thanks for all the great comments and suggestions. Annette- The frag plug racks are something I bought online. I did get lots of eggcrate with the tank, but it was white and silver. Also, thanks for the shelf idea. I redid my aquascape and I left the middle open for some flat pieces. I...

    Toadstool trauma, need advice

Good luck! I am sure it will attach very fast if its healthy. I placed mine off to the side on a rock for about 3 days so it could get used to my lighting. I went to lift it off and place it somewhere else and was surprised when the rock actually lifted with it. Oh, and another small...

    moving the tank tonight

This would be the perfect time to add more sand. And, if you aren't happy with your current sand you could always change the substrate.

    The new FOWLR project begins

Very nice tank. Looks like you have lots of equipment to keep you busy. I bet you will spending the next 7 hours aquascaping. Its fun (well... most of the time) and a very long process.

    My 65 gallon reef tank

Very pretty corals. I am surprised I didn't comment on this thread earlier since I love zoas and you have some awesome ones.

    Tank crashed

I am really sorry to hear that all that happened. But it looks like you are making a nice comeback. At least you get to visit the fish store more often now. Trips to the fish store is like going to a theme park for me. Very exciting.
