Thanks - He started this tank before we learned about deep substrate issues. In fact, we only learned about them when we were setting up the SW tank. I have an over-abundance of MTS in my planted tank, so that will be easy to do. I am not sure if he ever did a deep vac before on this...

Pleco do fine in our cichlid tank. we had probably 30 small cichlids in our 55, but as they grew, we moved them to a 125. Cichlids are more peaceful slightly crowded, but make sure you have plently of rock cover and caves for them to claim as their own. Most of our cichlids we bought in pairs...
