OK so i got this coupon from petco in the mail for a free 1/2g mini habitat... I know... not much, but SOMETHING can go in there, right?

well what can I have?
I was thinking fry that I raise for the petstore (because now I only have a votive holder:eek: )

so vote for the one thats best and please post any suggestions that you might have:)

thanks

I would not put anything in a tank that small and I'll tell you why.

#1. No swimming space. Even the laziest fish like to move a little bit, this size of a tank leaves no room for movement

#2. No filtration. You cannot filter a tank that size.

#3. No heater. Most of the fish that do not require tropical temps need pretty large tanks.(I know, there are a couple that can fit into small tanks, I am generalizing.)

The only thing I would use a tank that size for is to hatch eggs or to house a fish while I was cleaning the tank...maybe.

well, ill think about it, betas can live in bowls...
thanks anyway:)

This is true but shrimp are very small and can move around as long as there are no rocks and forth.

WHO SAID. I have filtered tanks this size with ugf. You can also make a small filter for it.

Yea this is a pain in the but but I have used the stuff made for greenhouse plants and place along the back. Works good.

There are those that will argue with you on this.

Shrimp and snails are all that I would put in there. You could make a little mini aquascape with java moss and a little java fern right in the middle, and maybe a small piece of driftwood or a rock. Then put in 2 shrimp. Something colorful like amanos or cherry shrimp.

I voted other I think this would be a good tank for some brine shrimp. You could have a good number of them in this tank.
