1 Fluval 404 canister or 2 Emperor 280's

I bet I have that same tank(72g bow front). I have 2 Emp 400s on it. Great filtration at an 11.1 turnover rate. I would suggest getting 2 Emp 400s, not 2 280s because it's 800 gph rather than 560 gph. You should order them from Big Al's Online because they are only 36.99 which is an incredible price. Also, you might want to get the Fluval 404 and an Emp 280. It's up to you.

either a fluval 404 with emperor 400/280 (ur choice the 400 will give u better filtration than having a 280) or just 2 400s

Call me Rocketman the Outlander here, but I would have to go with any canister, my prefrence being an Eheim. It mostly depends on how much you can afford. If you can't afford to go pricey, get the Emp's; they'll do you good for the money. Likewise for the Eheim's though - for an extra $50 you can get an Eheim Pro II 2026, which will do a 92 (US) Gallon tank. The point is, the more money you spend, the better your filtration is going to be.

The primary reason for my purchase of an Eheim was that I was looking for a low maintenince (cannot spell,) quiet filter. The silence issue was a large one for me - the tank is in my bedroom, and I need the silence.

Anyway, you get what you pay for. I got an excellent filter system that I cannot even hear if I put my ear up to it, (granted after listening to music for all 15 years of my life, my hearing isn't the best,) and extremely low maintenince. It is easy to use, easy to setup, everything - I have no complaints. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Thanks,

The Fluval 404 works good - the Filstar XP-3 works better I have both filters and the XP-3 is an excellent product! The Filstar filtered much more debris than the Fluval.

EH....say what......speak up, sonny!!!

Wait until you're 46 and been listening to rock since 12 and your motto has always been "If it's too loud, you're too old", then you'll realize what music at large decibels can do to your hearing. :D
