It isnt perfect conditions of the bettas are genetic abominations
Then so are all albino fish, as well as domestic strain platies, swordtails, mollies, various varieties of domestic strain tetras, flowerhorns, parrot cichlids, OB zebras and anything else that I'm forgetting which doesn't exist naturally in the wild. Albinos rarely survive in the wild as their color makes them stick out and vulnerable to predation. Domestic strain livebearers are hybridized and line bred for specific colors and fin traits, the tetras are line bred, and the cichlids are hybrids, none of which would exist without human interference. I doubt any hobbists can say that they've never kept an "abomination" by your standards.
